New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, along with Company and Airport Officials Celebrate Grand Opening of New Restaurants with Big Easy Flair

NEW ORLEANS – (Jan. 15, 2013) – Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services today celebrated the official grand opening of the company’s newest dining concepts at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY).

“We are thrilled to launch our newest restaurants inside New Orleans International Airport just in time for Mardi Gras and the Super Bowl,” said Matt King, President of Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services. “Thanks to the help of the airport board, city officials, and all of our wonderful partners, we can now offer travelers an authentic New Orleans experience as soon as they step off the plane.”

Delaware North’s new concepts include:

Cheesecake Scoop Café 
Created by the Copeland family of New Orleans, Copeland’s Cheesecake Scoop Café serves a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings including sandwiches, wraps and salads. The restaurant also features a first of its kind concept: “scooped” cheesecake served in a martini glass. Several types of cheesecake like fresh raspberry, black and white, and turtle are available with a variety of toppings. Cheesecake Scoop Café is located in Concourse D.

Copeland’s Gourmet Kitchen
Based on the success of the Copeland’s of New Orleans restaurant chain that began in 1983, the Copeland’s team of culinary experts has created a new menu of offerings for the airport. The menu includes favorites of Copeland’s fans including fresh salads, po-boy sandwiches, red beans and rice, pastas and fish and chips. Copeland’s Gourmet Kitchen is located in Concourse C.

Dooky Chase
An iconic New Orleans institution, Dooky Chase serves authentic Creole food. Under the direction of Leah Chase, the Queen of Creole Cuisine, the original Dooky Chase restaurant was a gathering place of Civil Rights leaders during the 1960s. Influenced by the French, Sicilian, and Italian traditions of the city, Dooky Chase offers New Orleans classics like Creole Gumbo and Peach Cobbler. Dooky Chase is located pre-security near the security checkpoint for Concourse C.

Le Petit Bistro
This bakery café concept features delicious deli-style food while providing travelers with a warm, welcoming European style atmosphere. The concept prides itself on its bistro-style menu featuring food that is prepared fresh every day. Le Petit Bistro offers items like a Strawberry & Spinach Salad, Dill Cucumber Salad, and a Pesto Chicken Sandwich. Le Petit Bistro is located in Concourse B.

PJ’s Coffee
A Louisiana coffee favorite for more than 30 years, PJ’s coffee was founded in 1978 by Phyllis Jordan and currently owned by the local Ballard family. PJ’s Coffee owns and operates its own roasting facility along the historic banks of the Mississippi River, and offers delicious hot and iced coffee creations. PJ’s Coffee is located in Concourse B.

WOW Café and Wingery!
New Orleans inspired and globally desired, WOW Café & Wingery! is passionate about the sauce, sound, soul and spice of southern Louisiana. Founded in 2001 in Covington by Paul Ballard, WOW Café & Wingery! is a fun casual restaurant. Featuring 20 proprietary sauces and dressings created by a team of award-winning chefs, the highlight of the menu is the restaurant namesake: Wings, including 17 signature sauces. WOW Café and Wingery! is located in Concourse D.

Ye Olde College Inn
A New Orleans landmark, with a menu that highlights the old and inspires new creations, Ye Olde College Inn is a quintessential New Orleans restaurant & bar. Ye Olde College Inn Restaurant and Bar has its own urban farm, and brings a new mix of big city and New Orleans flavors to the menu including a Fried Green Tomato Shrimp Remoulade, an Oyster Havarti Cheese and Bacon Po-Boy, an award-winning Fried Bread Pudding Po-Boy. Ye Olde College Inn is located in Concourse D.

Zatarain’s Kitchen
Zatarain's Kitchen is a first of its kind restaurant embodiment of the spirited brand that has been serving up New Orleans-Style food for more than 120 years. The new restaurant brings the signature taste of the city's food and flavor with traditional dishes that have been prepared in Louisiana home kitchens for years, from Jambalaya to Gumbo to every authentic flavor in between. Zatarain’s Kitchen is located in Concourse B.
