New Operator Delaware North begins taking reservations for the 2013 season
BEDFORD, Va. (June 4, 2013) Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts began taking reservations at noon EST on Tuesday, June 4 for Peaks of Otter Lodge. Guests may book overnight stays and events at the popular Blue Ridge Parkway property Monday, July 15 through Sunday December 15. The 2013 season will end December 16.

Long-term planned updates include:
  • Modern upgrades such as television and wireless internet capabilities throughout the Lodge.
  • New linens and décor in each of the 63 guest rooms, including new wall art displaying interpretive themes of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
  •  Delaware North will add local crafts and vendors to the Lodge gift shop, a lending book library and board games for guest use.
  • Interpretive activities will include children’s programs and Appalachian music programs.
  • Special culinary events will be announced at a later date.
  • Outdoor catering will be available for weddings, family reunions, milestone anniversary and birthday celebrations, and other special events.
A menu is still in development, but Peaks of Otter Lodge’s restaurant will provide a diverse range of fresh produce, healthy and sustainable food options, and locally grown or sourced items.
Lodging reservations can be made through peaksofotter.com or toll-free by telephone at 888-454-7711. Delaware North’s central reservations office is open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. EST Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. EST on Saturday and Sunday.

In addition to Peaks of Otter, Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts is beginning its first season as concessionaire at Shenandoah National Park, where it operates Big Meadows Lodge, Skyland Resort and Lewis Mountain Cabins. Shenandoah National Park is a 90-minute drive from Peaks of Otter along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, where it connects to Skyline Drive.
