New ‘Space Pass’ Ticket Package to be Sold Exclusively Through Travel Providers
KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. (Jan. 21, 2013)Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex provided more than 2,300 travel providers with a preview of the $100 million new home of Space Shuttle Atlantis Sunday during the opening night of Travel Exchange.
NTA (National Tour Association) and the United Motorcoach Association this year combined their annual convention and expo, respectively, to create Travel Exchange, bringing travel buyers and sellers together in Orlando.
Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, on Florida’s Space Coast only 45 minutes from Orlando, provided tours of the 90,000 square-foot building that will showcase Atlantis. The interactive experience, scheduled to open in summer 2013, tells the story of the 30-year Space Shuttle Program and highlights the future of space exploration. 
The Visitor Complex also introduced travel providers to its new partnership and pending announcement with Rovio Entertainment, creator of the globally successful Angry Birds franchise, including Angry Birds Space. 
In addition, Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts, which operates Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex for NASA, announced the rollout of a “Space Pass,” a new ticket package that will be exclusively sold through travel providers. The package for travelers includes:
·         Two-day admission to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame.
·         Choice of a Kennedy Space Center Up-Close Tour, which provides guests a deeper look at the launch facilities of Kennedy Space Center with the insights of trained space experts.
·         Lunch With an Astronaut – One of the most popular programs at Kennedy Space Center gives visitors a one-of-a-kind experience to enjoy a delicious meal and meet a veteran member of NASA’s Astronaut Corps.
