Atlanta airport associates recognized for above-and-beyond service

Several Delaware North associates at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport were recognized this week for their outstanding guest service in the month of January. Two associates – Lisa Washington, a prep cook, and Renata Williams, a food and beverage manager – were presented with awards in a ceremony on Thursday afternoon.

Washington received multiple glowing reviews from satisfied guests. One guest was thankful for Washington’s extra efforts in serving her family after a late-arriving flight when all other restaurants were closed. The guest wrote:

“Lisa at Food & Wine made our night! After a long flight from California with a connection in ATL, we were hungry and tired. Upon entering Food & Wine, we had our eyes set on a hot sandwich, but arrived just after the kitchen had closed. Lisa saw my face and immediately jumped into action and said, ‘I’ll make that for you!’ (and with a smile on her face!). The experience was great, and Lisa and the other wonderful lady working the counter made me and my husband laugh and smile while we were in the store. Excellent customer service, ATL!”

Another guest praised Washington for her attention and compassion in helping flustered parents and their crying infant while they were ordering breakfast.

Williams was celebrated by the team for her quick thinking and action for an injured traveler. The guest wrote:

“After breaking my thumb and index fingers at the airport, [and] after two separate help desks, no one could offer any help whatsoever… There was only ONE person who even cared to help me. Renata had a first aid [kit], where she assisted to help wrap my hand quickly and provide some relief. Then she refused a large tip. It’s truly this type of people and customer service that really should set an example of what things should be like. I can’t thank her enough and wish her praise, a raise, and some acknowledgment. I can’t thank her enough for going above and beyond.”

Other associates who received complimentary feedback from guests include Danielle Adams, Eric Davis, Adrienne Seal, Andrew Starke, Timothy Beatty and Jeremy Brammer.
