Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite earns prestigious ‘5 Green Keys’ rating

Green Key Global, an international environmental certification body, has recognized Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite with its prestigious “5 Green Keys” Eco-Rating for the resort’s accomplishments in environmental management and corporate social responsibility.

The 5 Green Keys designation is the highest rating level awarded and is given to “a hotel that exemplifies the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility throughout all areas of operations. The hotel employs cutting-edge technologies, policies and programs that set the international standard for sustainable hotel operations.”

“The credit for this award truly goes to Jorge Negrete,” said Brooke Smith, a marketing coordinator at the Delaware North-owned-and-operated venue. “His continued hard work and dedication is paramount to the many successes of Tenaya’s GreenPath program.”

“At Tenaya Lodge, our GreenPath efforts go above and beyond the standard industry requirements,” said Negrete, environmental and security supervisor at Tenaya Lodge. “It starts with communication with our vendors, the community and the associates to develop a culture that focuses on environmental education. We strive to use environmentally friendly products in our lodge rooms, retail outlets and the Ascent Spa.

“In addition to that, we source organic, seasonal produce for restaurants. Our continued commitment to incorporating the zero-waste program is what has earned us the 5 Green Key rating,” he continued.
