Saratoga Springs, New York (October 8, 2013)- Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts and Gideon Putnam Resort this week announced the appointment of two new management personnel at the iconic Saratoga Springs, N.Y., destination: Marsha Twiss as general manager and Robert Sgarlata as director of sales and marketing. 

 As general manager, Twiss will oversee all operations of the historic hotel  located in Saratoga Spa State Park. 

 A hospitality veteran, Twiss brings more than 18 years of hotel and resort  experience to The Gideon Putnam Resort and Spa. Prior to joining Delaware  North, she held management positions at two Crestline Hotels and Resorts in Virginia Beach, Va., as well as at Lansdowne Resort, a 305 guest room property in Lansdowne, Va. She also held positions at the Ritz Carlton Tyson’s Corner and the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. During her time at the Ritz Carlton, Twiss and her team became the first in the company’s history to achieve the designation of Certified Meeting Professional (CMP).

Marsha and her Husband Kevin are originally from Malone, NY.

 As director of sales and marketing, Sgarlata will oversee the strategy,  programs and processes for the National Historic Landmark resort. 
 Sgarlata’s hospitality career spans 25 years, and includes time at some of the  most renowned hotels in the Capital District. He has served in sales and  marketing capacities at The Sagamore, The Desmond Hotel & Conference Center, Six Flags Great Escape Lodge and the Albany Marriott, among others. Prior to joining the hospitality industry, Sgarlata was director of the education division for Hanson Publishing Group in Stamford, Conn., for eight years.
