Pre-Dawn Shuttle Launch To Excite Visitors

The sun will rise a little earlier on March 15, as Space Shuttle Atlantis roars into orbit on another construction mission to the International Space Station. A limited number of tickets are now on sale to view the early morning launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis, mission STS-117, from Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, the closest public viewing site to the launch pad.Admission tickets must be purchased in advance to receive a car placard to enter Kennedy Space Center for NASA's 21st U.S. mission to the International Space Station. During its 11-day mission, the six-person crew of Atlantis will install a new support truss to the station along with a set of power-generating solar arrays, destined to provide one-fourth of the total power generation for the completed station.

Asilomar Concludes $1.2 Million Renovation And Retrofitting Of Grace H. Dodge Chapel Auditorium

Asilomar Conference Grounds, home to the world’s largest collection of Julia Morgan-designed Arts & Crafts architecture, has completed a $1.2 million renovation to Morgan’s Grace H. Dodge Chapel Auditorium. A team of architectural, environmental and historic building specialists collaborated on the project, guided by original structural drawings borrowed from the engineering library at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Kennedy Space Center To Host World Space Expo

NASA’s Kennedy Space Center announced today that it will host the inaugural World Space Expo. The expo will be held November 3-11, 2007 and will feature an Aerial Salute by the United States Air Force Thunderbirds during the opening weekend.
