High-Tech Holiday Tradition “Holidays in Space” Returns to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex

Holidays in Space is Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex’s unique high-tech holiday celebration, featuring a custom, space and holiday themed projection mapping show set against the side of a Saturn 1B rocket. The Holidays in Space show takes place December 21, 2016 through January 1, 2017, with the exception of December 25. This remarkable presentation, reimagined for this year, takes guests on a journey through NASA’s history and plans for the future. Featuring custom animation blended with historic footage of actual launches and awe-inspiring views of Earth, the presentation is a completely unique outdoor cinematic experience, complete with seating and a pyrotechnics display. In addition, the visitor complex is adorned for the holiday season with a stunning array of decorations including a 35-foot-tall holiday mosaic tree, illuminated shooting stars and the popular NASA insignia “dressed up” for the season!
Guests won’t want to miss the excitement when the 223-foot-long Saturn 1B rocket transforms into a giant video screen for the holiday themed projection mapping show in the Rocket Garden. From December 21 through 24, 2016, the main show will take place at 6:45 p.m. Starting December 26, 2016 until January 1, 2017, the main show will take place at 7:45 p.m. Show times are weather permitting and subject to change. Please note, no show takes place on December 25.
Media and annual passholders will have the exclusive opportunity to attend the kickoff night on December 21, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Rocket Garden. Join SpacePerson and Z2 for refreshments and seating available in an exclusive prime viewing area. Passholders will also receive a limited edition Holidays in Space commemorative pin and a photo opportunity with the Lunar Rover!
