Kafé Kalik brings a taste of the Caribbean to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport

Delaware North’s travel division continued to expand its portfolio at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport this month as it opened Kafé Kalik, a full-service casual dining concept.

Kafé Kalik offers a unique dining and entertainment experience that embodies all
things Caribbean.

Throughout the menu, there are examples of indigenous and global influences that are now part of traditional Caribbean cuisine. Per its website, “Kafé Kalik gives its customers what they crave every day: a two-hour escape, a sense of celebration and the wonderful tastes, sights and sounds of the Caribbean.”

The name Kalik comes from the distinctive sound made by cow bells used as instruments during the colorful “Junkanoo,” a Caribbean festival combining colorful handmade costumes with Afro-Caribbean music and dance.

A few of the signature menu items are freshly prepared daily, including the conch salad, conch chowder and the roasted tamarind salmon. Specialty drinks include the Pink Sands Beach Margarita and Kalik Beer.

The addition of Kafé Kalik adds to a series of recent openings for Delaware North at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Delaware North in past two months has also opened Cucina & Co., the first airport outpost of a Patina Restaurant Group concept, and a mobile version of its Harvest & Grounds coffee shop and bakery.
