Barrio Brewing Co. opens at Tucson International Airport

Travelers passing through Tucson International Airport (TUS) can now get a taste of one of Arizona’s best-known breweries while waiting for their flight.

barriobrewery1-2210288Barrio Brewing Co., which bills itself as the state’s oldest craft brewery, was recently opened at the airport by Delaware North’s travel division and has expanded its hours as passenger traffic has picked up in recent weeks.

Located in the pre-security ticketing area of the airport, Barrio is now open Sundays through Fridays (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and can be accessed by both ticketed and nonticketed passengers. There is also a patio section of the restaurant with ample outdoor seating.

The brewery serves all of Barrio’s fan-favorite beers, including Barrio Blonde, Citrazona IPA, Nolan’s Porter dark beer, Rojo Scottish Amber Ale and Hipsterville hazy IPA.

The food menu includes an array of salads and sandwiches, including a Reuben and Southwest chicken panini and a Sonoran hot dog, which is a signature dish in Tucson.

“We are excited to welcome Barrio Brewing Co. to Tucson International Airport. As passengers and those awaiting loved ones as they arrive at TUS, it is great to provide our customers with an opportunity to order food or a drink while pre-security,” said Tucson Airport Authority President and CEO Danette Bewley. “It is even better that we have a local favorite that is sure to be appreciated by Tucsonans and visitors alike.”

Barrio’s original brewery location is situated just outside of downtown Tucson and has been serving its craft beers and distinctive bar food for more than 30 years.
