The Jacobs family leadership of Delaware North – Chairman Jeremy Jacobs, Co-CEOs Jerry Jacobs Jr. 
and Lou Jacobs, and CEO of Delaware North’s Boston Holdings Charlie Jacobs – were featured in a pair of recent USA Today stories, including the front page of the sports section.
USA Today’s coverage – including a video segment in the online versions – came as a result of “The Future of Sports,” a forward-thinking look at what’s ahead in the world of sports that was commissioned by the Jacobs family.
“The 50-page study, called ‘The Future of Sports,’ offers a provocative glimpse into what it imagines will be an era of mega-parks with up to 250,000 roaming fans whose ever-smarter smartphones will stream content far exceeding what’s generated by official broadcasters, a term doomed to disappear as non-broadcast media such as Google and Facebook offer highly personalized ways of watching games online,” one of the online stories said.
But not everything forecasted in The Future of Sports is a certainty – as reinforced by Mr. Jacobs in an online story titled “Bruins owner spearheads report on what sports will look like in 25 years.”
“The point, (Mr.) Jacobs says, isn’t that these things will all come true,” the article said. “The point is to be looking ahead, because disruptive change is coming — and fast. So much so that the report’s editors say some of the things the report originally predicted were coming in the next five to 10 years were instead beginning to come true even before the report could be released.”
