Roosevelt Baths & Spa in historic Saratoga Spa State Park showcases renovations with new treatment offerings

Spa undergoes remodeling just a year after significant renovations to its sister property, The Gideon Putnam

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Roosevelt Baths & Spa, the historic spa in Saratoga Spa State Park, recently completed renovations to every treatment room and added new massage therapy options, enhancing the already unique experience.

Spa guests have been enjoying the updated treatment rooms, relaxation room, hallways and spa offerings. The upgrades complement the major renovations that Delaware North completed at The Gideon Putnam, also located in Saratoga Spa State Park, in 2018. Delaware North operates both properties on behalf of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

Renovations to Roosevelt Baths & Spa include:

  • Treatment Rooms: All 42 treatment rooms have been furnished with new furniture, black-out curtains and cork-backed flooring. The historic mineral bathtubs have been fitted with new acrylic shells that protect the historic nature of the cast iron tubs from the 1930s, while upgrading the spa experience.
  • Relaxation Room: All new lounge furniture (eight chaise lounges, six oversized chairs, three café-style seating arrangements) provides spa guests and hotel guests a serene relaxation space. A fresh coat of paint and waterproof/antimicrobial cork-backed flooring completes the area.
  • New Treatments: Most known for its mineral baths, the spa has added several new massage therapy offerings to its services menu, including a Himalayan Salt Stone Massage, Heated Bamboo Massage, Focused Tension Massage and Good Karma Aromatherapy Massage.
  • Transportation: A new golf cart is available to transport guests to and from The Gideon Putnam Hotel and Roosevelt Baths & Spa. This allows guests to have a seamless, relaxing experience. A complimentary shuttle is also available during racing season to local destinations free of charge.

“Roosevelt Baths & Spa was designed to promote healing and relaxation, and these new upgrades continue to enhance that experience for our guests,” said Jared Taisey, spa director at Roosevelt Baths & Spa. “At the same time, we’ve stayed true to the authentic, historic nature of the property.”

The renovations come just in time for fall travel to the historic city of Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The state park offers a stunning venue for leaf peeping, plus travelers can explore the Saratoga Wine & Food Festival, indoor farmers markets, Saratoga Restaurant Week, and the Saratoga Wine & Chocolate Festival, along with year-round attractions like the National Museum of Dance, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, shopping on Broadway and more.

Visitors to Saratoga Springs can experience all that the city has to offer, while staying at The Gideon Putnam, also located in Saratoga Spa State Park. The historic boutique hotel opened in 1935 for visitors to benefit from the healing qualities of the Roosevelt Baths & Spa. Since 2008, Delaware North has spent millions of dollars renovating all guest rooms, guest room corridors, the lobby, Putnam’s Restaurant, meeting spaces, and the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.
