Delaware North adds another Topgolf Swing Suite restaurant with ‘Good Game’ in The Battery Atlanta

Delaware North, in partnership with The Battery Atlanta and Braves Development Company, this week announced plans to open “Good Game,” powered by Topgolf Swing Suite, later this year in The Battery Atlanta. This is the second Topgolf Swing Suite restaurant concept announced by Delaware North. The other concept, The Turn, will open later this month in Titletown, outside of Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisc.

Good Game is a distinctive dining and entertainment concept developed by Delaware North that offers Topgolf’s Swing Suite virtual simulator bays in a fun and interactive atmosphere.

Good Game will encompass 7,500 square feet within The Battery Atlanta and will house seven Topgolf Swing Suite simulator bays, where up to eight people per bay can play, eat and socialize in a comfortable lounge setting. The restaurant also features an expansive bar and dining area with a diverse menu featuring elevated bar foods and hand-crafted dishes made from fresh, regional ingredients. The bar will feature custom cocktails and an array of bottled and draft beers, including rotating seasonal options and local brews.

“This is an exciting new venture for us, as we combine our hospitality expertise with the excitement of Topgolf’s Swing Suite technology to create a new restaurant experience,” said Jerry Jacobs Jr., Co-CEO of Delaware North. “The Battery Atlanta provides the perfect environment for Good Game with its array of attractions and year-round events. We look forward to adding to this energy and giving guests an unmatched experience at Good Game.”

Jacobs was joined by Mike Plant, president and CEO of Braves Development Company, on Thursday for several media interviews to formally announce the restaurant.

“We are thrilled to welcome Good Game to The Battery Atlanta,” Plant said. “The Battery Atlanta continues to establish itself as a premier destination for Braves baseball, food, music and entertainment. Good Game brings yet another one-of-a-kind social experience that’s fun for non-golfers and golfers alike.”

“What we’re seeing in the sports and millennial market is people going to events but not necessarily watching the event, and what we’ve discovered is it’s really about being around other people, aggregating, especially in the city,” Jacobs told the Marietta Daily Journal. “So this is that opportunity for people to aggregate and enjoy each other’s company and that’s a really sought-out product; there’s a lot of enthusiasm.”

The Battery, a $900 million complex comprising two million square feet, is designed to accommodate families with options for everyone, and Good Game fits into that, which is why the rental space has remained empty until now, according to Plant.

“We’ve been waiting for the right opportunity because we want to do things that make sense for this experiential environment we’ve created here,” he said. “Younger people want to participate in what they’re doing and this is going to be a high-end experience with a lot of variety.”

Good Game will be in a corner ground-level suite among The Battery’s shops and restaurants, near the SunTrust Park entrance, accessible from the red parking deck.
