Company continues to bolster concept portfolio with strong national brands
Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services, one of the world’s leading airport food and retail providers, has partnered with Travel Channel to develop branded retail locations in airports throughout the United States.
 
Travel Channel is the only television network devoted exclusively to travel entertainment. The new partnership will combine Travel Channel’s dedication to immersive exploration with Delaware North’s world-class hospitality expertise to deliver a unique retail experience to millions of travelers.

The Travel Channel airport stores will entertain shoppers with the prominent display of Travel Channel’s extensive library of media content, and through interactive brand experiences that engage travelers with their destinations. Travel Channel stores will also feature a wide array of merchandise, ranging from travel-related essentials to products for fans of the channel’s popular shows.

Delaware North’s partnership with Travel Channel is part of the company’s continuing effort to bolster its concept portfolio with national brands. In the past year alone, Delaware North has embarked on key partnerships with the following notable brands:
  • The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf - Delaware North has agreed to a strategic, exclusive partnership with The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, a specialty coffee chain based in Los Angeles. Delaware North holds the exclusive deal with the brand for the development and operations of all future locations and recently secured the contract to add four Coffee Bean & Tea Leafs at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport.
     
  • Sports Illustrated - Delaware North opened the first ever Sports Illustrated retail store in Detroit Wayne County Metropolitan Airport in 2008. The company is working to open similar concepts in other airports.
     
  • Heineken - Delaware North opened the world’s first Heineken Lounge concept in the world at Newark Liberty International Airport last December.
     
  • uWink - Delaware North became the first company to bring automated ordering through uWink’s touchscreen terminals to the airport sector when it introduced the system at its Chili’s Bar & Grill in Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. The terminals allow guests to order food and beverages, play games and pay their bills electronically. The uWink terminal offer menus and information in Spanish, English, German and several other languages.
